Where to get Carbon Fibre Material

Postby tadz0rz » Tue Dec 15, 2009 11:10 pm

Boysss and girls...

I would like to know where i can get my hands on some carbon fiber interior material/cloth

Ive looked on ebay, maybe im just a bit stupid with what im searching, but i cant seem to find the stuff im after...

As some know i plan to re do my door panels and with a bit of guidance from an expert, i have an idea of what i want to do...

Basicly be a blue carbon fiber piece under the silver trims on the doors, and then a black carbon fiber for the bottom portion of the trim. Then topping it off with a bit of blue double stitching thanks to mumz0rz

But yeah, simply...Where can i get interior carbon fiber material/cloth...

drycarbonwrap.com

I believe that has 3M backing tape and isn't cloth though.

Why not ring someone like Jason at Custom Carbon in Brissy and see what he'll charge for some material?

Probably don't actually want real carbon fibre or basalt fibre as the weave can be quite brittle after a while without it being set in resin... I guess you want carbon effect material...?

There was some people on eBay selling this type of material, which emulates carbon quite well.. off to find link now!

I just got the 1 Yard = 55" Wide x 36" Long size.

Should be enough to do the dash and door trims, with sh!t loads left over.

Going to go to the wreckers and get me some ES dash and door trims so I don't destroy my VRX ones ;)

Yeah I bought 2 yards because I figured it was better to be safe when postage cost nearly as much as the fabric (bought from the US). Did my dash and door trims and the gear surround ... still have heaps left.

Neffywrap in silver or black. $50USD shipped.

You should be saving for you other expenses though ;)
