Hey guys and girls,
I want to get some aftermarket seats but not sure if I could get pulled up by the boys in blue.
Is it legal to get light weight racing seats ?
And for anyone who's done it, any problems with dissconectin the airbag drom the stock(does computer have issues) ?
Thanks in advance

If your stock seat has airbags your new seat must also have airbags. You'll get defected for downgrading safety features

To add to speedies post, it is legal providing you are replacing something equal (such as airbags) but the seat must also be adjustable, so no fixed back seats can be legal even when engineered AND you must be able to use the factory fitted seat rails. If the standard rails are not able to be bolted straight on (which is rare that they are) then they need to be engineered.

The actual seat must also be ADR approved, and any rails that are used. Then it must all be approved by an "Authorised Person" ie Engineer and mod plated accordingly. But if you have airbags... different story.

If the standard seats are not good enough then go to a motor trimmer and talk to them about making the bolsters bigger and changing the shape.... You can easily make a standard seat look and feel like a recaro!
