Cost and how hard is the work?
I have had the boot cover off to fit a new boot so that part is easy for me.

$ 59.99 on ebay and yours work 30 min.
You not necessarily have to change the boot cover you can use the OEM in my case change my car has the seat cover with that design but is easy to assemble

Yeah thanks, but it's around $100 AU with shipping, still worth it for a quick mod.

I think there are a couple that are still around the 65 mark on ebay from oz sellers I had no idea that the evo x short shifter would work.

Me neither, I'd assume the basic mechanical design of the gear change in the EVO would be pretty much the same as that in other Lancers?

If anyone finds one ~100 AUD or less, that's good quality and includes the rest of the install components, let me know! Have been wanting one of these for ages, the throw in the manuals is too long for my liking.

Be very careful of buying a cheap local item
I dismissed a more expensive name brand item for the cheaper version and ended up stranded in traffic with half a short shifter in my hand
Poor quality control on materials used.
