I’ve discovered that my indicator stalk doesn’t feel the same as before when I use it, makes a very plastic sound - which wasn’t there before.
Also I’m getting rattles from inside there as well so I wanted to open it up, anyone know if it’s a difficult process?

There was a recall for some of the Lancer for the stalks , there was grease to be added to it from memory.
Check your vin at the Mitsubishi web site and see if it needs a recall done.
If not, and it's not under warranty, I would grab another stalk from a wrecker and drop it in
