Audio steering wheel control

Postby ichbinzack » Sat Jul 23, 2016 1:05 pm

Does anyone know where I can buy an audio steering wheel control to install on my 08 ES? Been looking everywhere but can't find any. Just got an Alpine ilx-007 system installed and audio control on the wheel would make life easier

Are you talking about the switches or the wiring?

Switches - try wreckers and ebay/gumtree unless you want to pay dealer prices.
Wiring - SCA should have what you need.

I wouldn't recommend aerpro, which is what SCA sells. Friend had issues with his swc not communicating properly with his lancer

You're best off getting the genuine switches from a wrecker or online and not using universal ones, should bolt right on and will look way better. You may have to buy a whole steering wheel.

Aerpro is what I would recommend, You just have to make sure you get the correct kit. There is 3 that can be used for the lancers. I have Aerpro kit in the wife's car and its a VRX with the Rockford Amp, Sub Woofer and Steering Wheel Controls. No dramas so far and its been in the car since January. I didn't use the plug and play harness from the Aerpro kit to the stereo harness I hardwired it.

Ahh i see, I want to hard wire it aswell because I cut my harness and respliced the cables with the hard unit. What cable did you buy to do it? And what will I need to connect?

Im not sure off the top of my head which cable it was for the VRX but yours will be different being the ES. Maybe shoot Aerpro a private message on thier facebook page and they get back to you really fast with the answers. Its how I found out. Yours will be the cheaper one.
