You could be arrested for having your short shift in your hand in public like that
I agree $100 is a good price and yes you don't want to skimp on something like this.

I dismissed a more expensive name brand item for the cheaper version and ended up stranded in traffic with half a short shifter in my hand
Poor quality control on materials used.
Thanks for the words of warning, will definitely keep looking for something of decent quality then. Don't particularly want to import from the US, but will do if need be.

Re: topspeed pro1 short throw shifter
Hi guys I was wondering do you know if this would fit into a standard 2014 Mitsubishi CJ Lancer?
Re: topspeed pro1 short throw shifter
Some of you guys considering a "Short Shifter" mod are quite concerned about quality & safety.
I couldn't agree more strongly, yet some of you still insist on a cheap price
You simply cant have both and expect everything to stay "Fail Safe"
The other thing to consider is that we are Right Hand Drive in Australia, so be aware that many of the Short Shifter's you find advertised on EBay etc are for Left Hand Drive as shown in this picture.
The Right Hand Drive version, bends the main arm (with the knob threads at the end) in the opposite direction
The two best brands available are:
TMW Performance
TORQUE SOLUTIONS
Both brands provide a step-by-step Installation Manual
Torque Solutions even provide a Video. Short Shifter Install Video
IMPORTANT NOTE: Remember to email them to advise you want the "Right Hand Drive" version.

It doesn't look too hard to fit BarbC, hardest thing would definitely be getting the pins out. Did you watch the video? The centre console is extremely easy to pull apart without any issues, I've done it a number of times.

Re: topspeed pro1 short throw shifter
Hi guys,
So reviving this chat because I need some help. I'm looking for a short throw shifter to put in my SX. Firstly I've taken a look at the shifters from Torque Solutions and TMW performance but they are just called short shifters. Do these products still have the same effect as a short throw shifter where they reduce the throw distance between gear shifts? Or are they completely different things? And secondly, if they are different, where would I be able to purchase a short throw shifter?
Cheers guys

Re: topspeed pro1 short throw shifter
I looked at the short shifter handle and decided to install the twm full cage short shifter. Its more expensive but the build quality is second to none.
RA intake, TOG air filter, pedders street suspension, Twm full cage short shifter, RRM lightened crank pulley, 67mm throttle body, supercircuit 4-2-1, rapid straight through sports exhaust, ultraracing parts, T2 slotted rotors all round. Most importantly Merlinised. And stuff.....yeah she's not stock anymore.
