Driver side carpet dying

Hey guys, sorry if this is in the wrong place i did have a look in search but found nothing.

Anyway i have noticed lately that the actual floor carpet of the car on the driver side near the center console is to some extent wearing/burning.
its as though its being heated from underneath and im just wondering if anyone else is having this issue?

It seems to be getting worse and now there are two spots kinda that are almost carpetless...
before anyone suggests it no i dont put my foot there i checked already it seems to be on the uprise a tad near the center dash just back from the foot rest. i was thinking maybe its the gear box getting hot or something so maybe if some other RA drivers could check would be awesome.

Is your car nodded like exhaust?

If standard take it to mitsubishi.

its standard at the moment and never had an exhaust,
i checked the other day coming back from down the coast but didnt seem hot at all, i do alot of coastal driving so i thought the same thing but i had a bit of a feel and felt nothing.

Ill try to remember to upload pics tonight, its up for another service so ill speak to mitsubishi about it
