WTB VRX brake upgrade kit

I understand that the VRX comes with a bigger brake setup than the base ES model?
If so ill be chasing an upgrade kit.
Calipers can be in any condition as ill probably just end up reconditioning and zinc plating them anyway.
Preferably Brisbane for local pickup, interstate considered for the right price.
Cheers

I think the ES and the VRX have the same brakes now.
During the first years the ES had a very slightly smaller caliper and pad at the front. same caliper as the 1.6 overseas models but i don't think they run that anymore here.
See if you can source your self some RA brakes as the caliper and pads are much much bigger. otherwise SS lines and Super DOT 4 or whatever it is.
If you go to the Bendix website you should be able to get a img of the parts you will see that the surface area is not really that big difference. between 1.6L and 2.0L
RA is where the stopping power is at

Well i have one of the first ES models to land in AUS so they'l be the smaller calipers. What are my chances of finding a set of RA's though?

I thought it was the vrx and the ra that shared the same size brakes and calipers, whilst the es was smaller

VRX & RAs have different size calipers.

Base model ES-VR 276mm discs and single piston calliper.
VRX -aspire 294mm disc single piston calliper(larger then base models)
Ralliart 294mm disc and twin piston callipers. Discs are thicker and different offsets then the VRX and larger pads.

Re-activating an old post here
Where would be the best place to buy brand new VRX discs, calipers and pads?
I called my local autopro but they can't get calipers...
I'm looking to upgrade my 2015 ES Sport (I may even consider bigger than VRX if it were to be possible and cheap enough)

Better off buying used calipers/disks from wrecking yard. Pads and calipers can be purchased locally, best off asking a local

Many of us have upgraded our brakes by using the Ralliart Twin Pot Calipers and Disc Rotors.
The best place to buy these are from a wrecker, then clean-up, paint & fit.
You have to either use the Rotors that come with the Ralliart Calipers or buy new rotors from DBA etc, because they have a different centre offset to VRX, ES or other.
But good luck finding them. They are scarce.

Alternatively, you could consider this Big Brake Kit made by PBR.

I have managed to source some RA front and rear calipers from a RA member who upgraded to a big brake kit. (much bigger than the post above)
I am hoping to do this perhaps when our group buy comes in..
I understand the the front calipers simply bolt on. however is anyone running upgraded rears?
or cant it be done due to the AWD hub size difference on the RA rear?
