Hey all,
Picked up my 2011 lancer SX manual in january this year in graphite grey
stock to the bone, but im looking for things to do to it.
trying to find rims that would suit the colour of the car and also info on the different styles of front bumpers for two reasons. one mine has a small crack and two i want to mod it to look better i guess.
I'm gonna try and buy or trade for some LED taillights, projector headlights, Evo style hood and a MMCS headunit.
hopefully with some help I can change what is a stock as a rock lancer into something classy looking.
thanks!

Hey David, welcome to club CJ! Hmmm, all your mods sound expensive haha.
You should join in on the group buy of the ralliart/evo style bonnet going on. You can also get some LED tail lights from the same group buy. Keep on the look out for second MMCS units for sale here. Irving (Ofey) usually has one for sale every now and then. As for the projector headlights... they will be quite hard to obtain.. I don't know if any member here has changed from standard reflectors to projectors. At least not OEM.
Ali.

I kinda said it early this morning, but welcome to ClubCJ.
Any questions on audio you know where to go. Looking stylish - dependant of course on your particular style - is only part of the equation.
{Though you seem to have the sub stage handled already)

As for audio scraverX maybe you can help me here. As you know i have a 12" fusion sub and amp, what would be the best double din unit for me with all features such as rear usb and aux, bluetooth, atleast a 7" lcd screen with most common playbacks, gps optional i dont need but it would be nice to have a red style or theme would be greatly preferd because im going for a graphite grey with red and chrome details red being the lighing and chrome being the exterior parts. Also on top of that what would be a good fit plus upgrade to the stock speakers i know just about any speakers would be better then stock but what i mean is fit to the door without retrim and clarity to the headunit i dont really want to mix and match but if you know/think it sounds good id be happy to give it a try and just a side question corner window door tweeters do we only have the otion of the lancer OEM's? or can we get what ever we wish installed?! thanks for your future reply.

Hmm, kinda depends on your budget David.
I know that the red illumination on the Eclipse units goes well with our dash/console illumination.
There's a new Eclipse AVN unit that's only just come out - e.g. one of the stores I deal with only just got one in this week - has all the features you're looking for including nav. Plus Voice control and full iPod/iPone... RRP is up around 2.2k
There's a new Kenwood, which I don't know too many details on - red illumination is an option - but the interface is SLOW. 4 second wait between screen touch and feature activation including track select. I know that because another shop I deal with the owner had just done a review and was able to show me right on the spot.
Alpine can be good, but some of the newer ones aren't quite 'up to scratch' possibly because a lot of their dev. work went into their new external processor.
Clarion's new 2din NX501A has been getting very good reviews and is said to be among the best New 2din's currently available if not the Top choice depending on the reviewer.
- Best option when picking any head unit is to shop around and have a fiddle with a demo unit. If you aren't happy with the layout of controls, the menu arrangement and the like don't buy it.
For example, I've seen some where you have to navigate quite far into the menu to adjust your Sub level.
Speakers: I could rattle off quite a list of speakers however, the important information is:
- 6.5" Splits fit no worries, though a mounting ring will need to be made for the door speaker
- most tweeters will fit behind the sail trim but some may need the trim modified slightly.
- basic 6.5" coaxials are ample for the rear doors "if you want to upgrade those"
- Let your ears do the choosing. Go to multiple stores if you need to and listen to as many sets of speakers as you possibly can. Take along CD's you like a lot and/or an iPod loaded with songs you really like.
If you feel like the staff are trying to rush you, go elsewhere. I tend to deal only with specialist stores, one of which has a listening room and they will leave a customer there for as long as the customer wants to spend.
- Speakers will sound slightly different in a car to how they sound on a demo board.
- Good speakers need time to "run in"
- Installation is important. Even expensive speakers can sound crap if the install isn't good.
- Sound deadening can make a big difference to the sound of even cheep speakers.
