Welcome to the club Scot.
Unfortunately you have not come to the right place to keep your car stock.
A tune will transform your car.

welcome mate, to do that you can pull the center out that has the cupholders in it by just opening the center console and pull up, it is held in by clips and just has 2 plugs into it for memory which is your AWC and a second one thats not used. takes a second to do.... sadly tho you wont be able to get to the back of those RCA plugs unless u pull the center out, again easy as pie but its up to you if you wish to do it.... PM me if you need more details

Welcome Scott
I got lucky and an AUX plug was fitted to the back of my radio and passed through to the glove box. I then re-routed it to the centre console. I then moved my AWC button to where the traction control button is, and put the standard lancer holder in the hole. I drilled a hole in it (it's a $10 part that is easy to replace) and poked the aux cable up. I might have put some pics up here on this forum - so long ago I can't remember, and I can't search while typing this.
New air filter won't void the warranty unless it is a problem traced to the filter itself. For example, if use get one of the oiled jobs and you over oil it and an engine failure is traced to too much oil on the air filter, then Mitsubishi might have a case... I use a Blitz filter and love it.
Try and get along to one of the meets and see what some of the Ralliart boys have done to their cars - some may call it abuse, I say it is all in the name of good value performance.
Best mod is a new set of tyres and it won't void the warranty.
