Hi, I'm from Geelong and have a 2004 KL Ei Verada. Hopefully it will soon be joined by one of those great looking CJ Lancers. I'm interested in the Aspire in particular, being a successor to the Verada.

Hi Mathew welcome to the club. Great choice of models.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your old car.

My only advice is get a champagne Aspire as it looks the best and easier to keep it looking clean.

Do you plan any mods?

Make sure you get your car from nick at Preston Motors Ralliart too as they always help the club members out.

The Verada was picked up from an auction a few years ago for about $15k, ex Department of Justice.

I don't like modding anything too much, but there's always something I would like to do to personalise it a bit more.
I like the look of angel eyes and DRLs, although their legality may deter me from doing that.

What's your opinion on VRX spoilers?

Welcome Matthew  ... The VRX Spoilers look good only others have said they block a fair bit of your view ...

I dont like the VRX spoiler. It goes against the look of the Aspire IMHO. I do have the lip spoiler as it looks ok and helps with seeing where the back of the car is. Take a VRX for a test drive and you will see the visibility problems.

Angle Eyes are not recommended on the Aspire as it requires baking the headlights and we have HID's. If you stuff them up they are very expensive to replace.

hellooo fellow melbournian.

Troy's spot on his his assessment of the VRX spoiler. Visibility no no.

I would suggest either a subtle lip spoiler ala the VR or the Evo X spoiler of which you can get from X-Factor Engineering.

Also if you want the Angel eyes, I suggest you trying it on a dummy set first. VERY expensive mistake if you go wrong.

Thanks for the replies, even though Geelong isn't quite a suburb of Melbourne ofey!

If I did get angel eyes done, it would have to be a proffessional install.

For spoilers, would the EvoX improve the drag and efficiency of the car much?

True that.

It's unlikely that your Evo X spoiler does anything more than show. Considering that this car is a front wheel drive which in practical terms puts less than 100kW at the front wheels, the spoiler would do next to nothing.
