Hi Guys,

Ive been lurking for quite a while but just haven't had time to post and introduce myself. Bought my Red MY11 VRX in Feb, been very happy with it :D

I'm interested in getting firstly getting some front tints done to match the privacy glass, and maybe some other minor mods (although Im very conservative when it comes fiddling with cars, especially with shiny new ones!), and this site has been invaluable to see what others are doing.

On a side note, anyone have issue with paintwork on their Lancer? Ive had 2 rock chips on the bonnet so far, one big enough to warrant some touching up, the other only noticeable when you look for it. Rock chips happen, and it could be just bad luck to get 2 so quickly, but I had heard some people talk about lancer paintwork being a bit susceptible to chipping. Any credence to that?

Anyway, cheers, hope to get to know you all ;)

Hey Tim,

Welcome to the club!

I also have an MY11 red VRX and sadly, yes, rock chips and scratches are very prominent on our thin paint work :x

Well good to know its not just me, but a little disappointing to know its a common problem. As much as I coddle my car atm (first new new car Ive bought you see), all the waxing in the world isn't going to stop highway speed rocks from taking paintwork off.

My windscreen got cracked on the first trip. I was driving home from the dealer whan a rock hit it.

unfortunatley thats life. But our paintwork is soft, so as to keep them shinny for longer hehehe.

Welcome to the club Tim
