Hello guys, I just join this forum so I thought I will introduce myself here.

Im from sydney and I picked up my 11 Lancer SX in black (really realy like that black :D ) about a month ago, a few week later I discover this great community where I read up on a lot of stuff.

As for my car, Im loving it. Mods wise I think after the first 150KM Service, i will start looking for HID options. And lowering and new wheels are a possibility. Lets see.

See you guys around the forum.

Cheers

Hi Alex welcome to the club.

Do you have any photos of your ride?

Our cars look good lowered with nice wheels.

Please consider others drivers on the road have a right to see as well before installing HID's.

Yeh, I already got a few, will look forward to customizing my own car. At the moment, only HID's wheel, lowering, and maybe a few diy like spraying the grill matt black, or carbon wrap some interior bit. Im sure the more i read the more idea will come to mind =]

I know, the first thing i notice about my car is that the wheel kinda look too small incomparison. (my other car in the family being a commodore with 18's) so thinking maybe some 17's with lower profile tires and lowering it a tad will set the car off. Photo wise i havent had a chance to take her for photo shot yet. maybe after I service and wash her =]

And the HID thing, I would like to check out some proper projector set to install. I think what you mean by being considerate is not to put plug and play 10000k 55w ebay hids straight into the reflectors right?

Yes I do mean that. Good luck trying to find them for under $1000

HID's need to be fitted in to projector, auto levelling and be fitted with a washer.

To be honest they really are not necessary. Yes they are good for long country drives at night but in the city they are not needed.

Just buy good globes.

Welcome Alex.

If money is no object for your Halogen bulb, might I suggest PIAA's Super White and White (4300K). It's abit hard to locate now but they have a replacement called PIAA Northern Star White (4400K) :

PIAA you can't buy in stores though, you'll probably have to go eBay but you can put the same set for High and low beams, so long as you buy the HB fitments.

If money is a concern and you want to buy instore, Philips X-treme Power is very well reported.

The Kelvin chart below is one of the best I've seen:

So essentially to get the white light look with halogen, you want to pick something between 4300->4800K.
