Hi all,

I know this is probably not the topic to ask but this being my first intro maybe someone can help ASAP.

We just purchased a MY10 Sportback with a Cat back sport exhaust system on it. Far too loud for us, so we are hunting a stock exhaust from the cat back to put on our vehicle.

I'm sure there is are a few members out there that have one lying in their garage or under the house.

We are located on the NSW Central Coast.

Please email if you have one or know of a wreckers with one:

Thanks

Welcome to the club Mark.

Yes there a few of us who have modded our exhaust and kept our old one, but I dont believe there is any one in the central coast.

There may be a member around happy to swap their stock one for your complete system.

Can you give some more info on the system? What brand, size , material?

You maybe able to adjust yours. I found mine too load originally and added a resonator to quiet it down. You could also add a larger rear muffler.

Yeah a clean swap might be the best option for all parties concerned, there should be someone in the area who would like to swap.

Thanks for info,

I don't believe it's any brand, it's 2inches with only a hotdog muffler just after the cat and one single muffler after the diff.

I spoke with a Muffler guy who also said he could put in a resonator instead of the hotdog muffler, but couldn't guarantee how quiet it would be untill he had done the work.
We are wanting the quiet stock muffler sound.

A swap is fine, just need to right man out there and close by.???

Does anyone know if it's a real simple job? I have done similiar on a few WRX's iv'e had and it only had two bolts attaching to the CAT.

Yeah should be a couple of bolts on the Cat then a matter of dropping the hangers, assuming that when the exhaust was fitted the hangers were not modified

If possible we could organise some tools and do the swap in the park, not a clubCJ meet unless we are pulling someone's car apart :P

Hi all,

Won't be able to make March 6.

I have sourced a MY10 VRX stock exhaust from a wreckers that is supposedly off a 2litre (although I thought they had the 2.4? but he says it's a 2litre).

Anyway does anyone know if the VRX exhaust is the same as the ES and just bolt straight on from the Cat back?

Many thanks again

the first generation VRX's (the MY08) had a 2litre engine before they went to 2.4 on the MY09 model. And yep a 2l VRX system would be the same as a 2l ES.
