Hi all, new member from Sydney, just got my VRX my11. love that car already. wanna do some minimum mod to it so it stand out abit, but not too much or my wife will kill me, because I did so many modifications to my last car and it didn't add up any value when we sold it.
so anything cheap and easy i can do to my ride?

Congrats on your choice of a Lancer. Easily the best looking car on offer atm. *biased yes*

Most people start by blacking out the front middle bar of their car. Unless you already have a black lancer. That's a very cheap mod requiring only some black vinyl. Look around the garage and you'll soon get some delusions of grandeur.

Car mods rarely add value to the car. I don't know a single one which does. Most of us who mod the car then sell it usually end up de-kitting the mods and selling them seperately.

Remember, anything you spend on the car including purchasing it, devalues the car. It works quite the opposite way when it comes to houses.

Hey there Andrew,

Welcome to the club :D Congrats on your new car! The guys from NSW are a great lot (Well the couple I met yesterday seemed ok :P kidding you guys he he he)

There is lots of little things you can do to your car to change it from just standard. Just have a look on DYI or What did you do on your car today to give you ideas and a how to guide if unsure. You could also look in the Garage as Ofey said to see the mods other people have done on their cars. Also the search tool is also a big help if your looking for something in particular. If you have any questions just post it, there is always someone around here that knows the answer.

Thanks guys, I've a black VRX, so the blackout don't work for me.
Anyway, after a long search I have created my wanted list.

1. Front v-lip from scorpion motor sport.

ordered and arriving in 2 days.

2. REAR DIFFUSER WITH TWIN S/S TIPS from Talon.

getting a quote for just the diffuser, don't want the fake pipe and tips. anyone here had it installed on their lancer? any pic? wanna know if it fits the stock exhaust. and is it a add on kit on top of the factory rear bumper?

3. Greddy SE exhaust.

waiting for group buy, D2D are very expensive atm.

4. leather interior.

want some idea on what color and pattern.

Hi Andrew, welcome to the club!

Good choice of mods there so far!

I dont think there will be a group buy on the Greddy anytime soon cos it is quite expensive to ship the exhaust to different states. Unless you can find quite a few people willing to buy the Greddy within the one state and can have it shipped to the one address, I dont think it will save you much! I think you should consider purchasing the Greddy soon since our dollar is quite high atm. Other than the price, it is a very good exhaust! :P

Good luck with the rest of your mods and enjor your time here!

Hi Andrew and welcome,
The Talon Rear Diffuser was $450 incl Freight & Painted in X42
No it won't fit standard exhaust outlet
and is it a add on kit on top of the factory rear bumper, 4 srews from memory, but you need to cork it up with Sikaflex, cause it is a bit gappy between bumper and diffuser in a couple of places.
I chose to have it Professionally fitted at a cost of $110.00 (i think)
The RA Muffler $300) off a new RA was bought from & fitted by an Exhaust specialist i have dealt with for about 10 yrs so was done for $30.00, a little bit of mucking around to get it aligned with stock exhaust pipe and they also extended the Dual outlet spacing to suit the Talon Diffuser, (RA's are closer together)
And......... you need to tell Talon to Enlarge the left hole on the diffuser as it is smaller than right hole, (left is for the Fake Tip)

Cheers
Eric
