Hi all,
My name is Damian and I work with Peter (Tarquin).
I thought I would join up and say hi even though I am not a Lancer owner as you may see me on a cruise every now and then :)
You may have heard of Tarquin talking about the xr5ownersclub, well I am one of "them" ha ha. I drive a 2010 XR5 Turbo with a few little "tweaks"
Im hoping our two clubs can get together every now and then and share our passion for our cars, after all, we all seem to share that passion.
I can assure you the fans of the blue oval on the xr5ownersclub site are just like yourselves. We love our cars, share information, go on cruises and track days, and really dont take ourselves too seriously.
Oh well, that's my rant over. I look forward to meeting some of you this weekend and checking out your cars, and you are more than welcome to check out mine. I will try and get some pics up later.
Don't be shy, come and say hi :)
Cheers
Damo aka Xciting

Car sounds nice.

I know the President of the FPV & XR Club down here in Canberra.

Nice cars the Fords, even the ones with, as he would say; "only half an engine".

Welcome to CCJ.

Thanks for the welcome scraverX,
I managed to post some pics in the garage this morning. Take a look if you have time :)
Yeah, we like to say "Who need's six or eight, we are kickin on all five"
The XR club in Brissy invited us to Lakeside recently to do some laps, I think they regretted that decision as the closest FPV that came near our fives was running 1.08 around the track, one of our guys did 1.06, it earnt us some more respect from our "big brothers" but a fun day was had by all :) he he he

Indeed, depending on the size of the track your XR5's would be quicker then an FPV. They aren't great on tight tracks unless the driver has balls. :)

I might check out late tonight or early tomorrow.

Ohhh yeah, a few of them were getting wobbly tails trying to push harder around those bends, but it was a fun day out and everyone had a good day out and returned with their cars intact, except for one unlucky purple XR8 owner who put it into the tyre wall when over corrected on a bend once the tail flew out. Poor bugger! His wife gave him no end of grief as it was their daily drive.
