Welcome to the club.

Don't waste your time or money, they cause more problems than they are worth. Like sleeped said go to a good tune shop and get them to tune it properly for you.

Thanks for the input guys!!!!
Kinda figured that a tune was the way to go.
Was just seeing if i could get out of it cheaper.
I'll just wait till i can afford to do the exhaust and do the tune at the same time.
:D :D :D

@aspir3: Yeah, the bike is the wife but i cheat on her with the RA!!!

Hi there and welcome.. It's up to you wheather you want or need a electronic boost controller. I use a HKS EVC VI, I love it and it's fun, i run scrample boost a lot for shits and giggles :)
But yes a tune would be money better spent, as they can just play with your boost settings.

@ mr_evo,
You had any dramas with it boost spiking or any other dramas with it???
I've noticed someone on here posting that boost controllers won't work with evo/ralliart etc.
To quote:

"Using one of these pills is the only method of boost control that we recommend for any car with the SST transmission (i.e. any EVO MR, or any Ralliart)
Because of the unique way that the transmission gets loaded, unloaded, clutch released, etc. Manual boost controllers and electronic boost controllers do not work very well on these cars. When using an MBC or EBC on these cars they are very prone to boost spikes and overshooting of boost, resulting in very poor driveability."

Not sure if this is true or not.
Hence the questions.
I don't have the required mechanical knowledge to know if this is true or not....

@Les, mate i know a few guys running the HKS EVC VI and have not had any issues with there MR/RA'S so it's up to and at the end of the day if you do just un-install and sell on ebay mate there a few different ones you can go for but when my evo starts getting round to mods that is the second thing im putting on after the tune.. just my 2C
