Hey all, names Simon. Just put a deposit down on an 08 White VR. Couldnt quite afford a brand newie after someone wrote off my last bomb of a car a month ago, but i shouldnt complain. Shes only done 20000km's and i think i got a pretty good deal.

Anyhow, been lurking around here for the last week or so while i made up my mind what to buy. Been very helpful (maybe not to my wallet), as im already planning afew mods. Some new mags, bumper black out, maybe a CAI, and some flappy paddle gear changes (if i feel confident enough with the install).

Haha, welcome! :)
There is a CAI group buy happening right now. So check the thread out.

Good to hear we've been able to influence your purchasing decision.
Flappys apparently are fairly straight forward to install apparently.

Hope to see you on a cruise soon. so when u getting your car?

Well things really did turn to shit this morning. Whilst arranging my finance, and conducting the revs check, i found out the car was a repairable write off. Apparently in another life the car had major front right hand damage, not just the smashed headlight the owner told me about. So finance have pulled the pin on this car, leaving me once again looking for a new ride.

Not happy, goes to show how important proper checks on a used car are though i suppose. Thankfully the owner agreed to give me back my deposit.

Update: Ok after this mornings problems, i decided i was sick of looking for a used car, and running the risk of getting one that was either, repairable writeout, rebirthed, thrashed, or just plain over priced for a used car.

So long story short is i bit the bullet and just bought a brand new White SX sedan. Hopefully ill have it by mid next week.

Wow after all that crpa this morning! It was all for the best you found the car was a RWO. Who knows what other stuff they seller was lying about!

Seems it all turned out well. Not much difference between the VR and SX other than trim level, but I guess having a more of a blank canvas gives you more scope to add mods. Which is a good thing, well not for your wallet... but hey. :)

now it's that horrible waiting game.....

well, tough luck on the original situation and hope it hasn't put too big a dent in your pocket. after a while, you forget which trim you bought (besides the fact it's not an RA/Evo) and it'll be something to be proud of. :p

welcome to the club and get to the know the guys up in Sydney. :)
