Hi everyone,

I've had my VRX for a while now and thought since i've started doing some work on it would pop in and say g'day.

I had a new stereo put in pretty much straight away and just had my wheels put on yesterday. I'm looking at getting the chrome grills put on soon and any help, suggestions and feedback will be welcomed.

Cheers,

Rick

Thanks everyone...

Nothing special as far as stereo equipment, i had a JVC D/D installed - KW-AVX836 with the stinger dash kit. Nothing as far as speakers etc.

I'm based in Willowbank, so a bit out of the way, but it's easier to just claim Brisbane.

cheers mate, that'd be great. I was thinking of putting some speakers up the back sometime down the line. I may have the model wrong on my stereo but it looks awfully similar to yours, what dash kit do you have?

I would recommend upgrading the fronts over rears. Which way do your ears face?
Forward i hope, if they dont , i meant no offence, LOL. So most of your sound should come from there

we hear in all directions, that's how we are able to determine where a sound came from, and most people ears predominantly face outwards not so much forward, but angle of your ear is determined by a little tendon behind your ear so most people have slightly different angles to which there hearing is best at.

Sorry for abit of a thread Hi-jack but i feel i should answer Blakey

Blakey- I am only trying to help people on this site with my professional experience in the car audio field that i have been involved in for around 16 years from DB drag competitor, IASCA Judge to Studdies in the U.S. I never claim to know everything but i have alot of practical experience which can help people save time and money to get some very good results in their car. But here some more information for you

Pinna - is the visible part of the outer ear. It collects pressure waves (differing frequencies of pressure that we interpret as music / sounds) that the membrane captures from in front of it and directs this sound into the outer ear canal. It's important to remember too that each pinna individually is responsible for determining height while the two ears together determine width.

You may hear sounds coming from behind you, but it is not all the sound information that is actually there to be heard. You mainly miss upper mid range and hi range sounds which are very directional, the same reason music can be heard from a different room in the house but can seem a little muffled.

Animals can also be seen in the wild turning their ears to the direction of the sound source to get a more accurate idea of location. We cant do this, so i suggest putting speakers in front of you
