I am New and want suggestions

Postby dibbs » Mon Apr 26, 2010 9:25 am

I have just bought my Lancer ES 2010. Its Lightning Blue and very smexy as it is, but I would love to do more to it. At this point in time the only mods I can think that my car needs are

** New Rims
** New Exhaust
** Body Kit

I am happy with the interior but maybe down the track I would like to put a new sound system in it...But not for a while. What other mods have forum members put on their ES Lancers...And approx costs involved..And please speak english hehe I am not mechanically minded lol

Thanks

depends what you're after:

a few cheap "performance" upgrades
- (~$70-80) air filter (Blitz or K&N are what most people have)
- (~$75) ECU stage 1 tune (improves torque and fuel consumption)

a few "visual" upgrades
- (the must have :p) front bumper black out [get some leftover vinyl from a sign writer]

check out the Ultimate ClubCJ guide (link), it's a worthwhile read put together by one of our members, tadz

Alpine iDA-X305 headunit | LED Taillights | VG Sharkfin Antenna

ohai thats me!!

Dibbs, check out my garage and LZY_EYE's garage. We both have ES's but modded them to make them more individual. We both have blue aswell :D

Check out x-factor design, they have the VRX front air dams and sideskirts which will help dress up the exterior to make it more sporty...They also have auto folding mirrors and vortex generators. Great products :D

I'd say start off with rims and exhaust, the benefits from a new air filter or pod filter are almost negligible (very slight change). You only want to make your car look shit hot don't you?

Debbie the things I would change on an ES would be;

Wheels
Lowered springs
X-factor side skirts and front bumper air dams
Black out front grill
chrome exhaust tip and if you want it louder rear muffler
Boot lid spoiler, there are many to pick from. I like discreet one that do not block your vision
Tinted windows
Fog lights

Good luck.

Hi Dibbs

Mine's an RX, so it's an ES but had a tail and alloys (16") already, and I ordered it with tinted windows.

Visually, all I've done so far:

- After market 18" wheels and new tyres $1800 as a package
- Shark Fin Antenna (like BMW's) ~$80 purchased through the club

My current "big" (price wise) change is the stereo and you'll find there are a few members that can advise you when you choose to change yours.

yeah, $80 for a ariel is WOW. I'm using a Perrin 2" shorty antenna... only $35... I still think rims and exhaust... Maybe we can go wheel shopping sis, and drop into a few exhaust shops along the way.. :) then work our way along the mod list from there, you just need a starting point, and to make sure you wont have to do the same thing twice..
