Hey guys brand new member. Picked up my Avtiv Sportback on Monday.
First mod was custom plates and some nice 18's.. here's some pics (terrible quality), looking forward to being a part of the club ;)

Let me know what you think.

Also about to do a small upgrade to the sound system; I have a 12inch kicker sub in a ported box (from my old car) i'm thinking about picking up an amp on the weekend and maybe some new 6" speakers. Reckon that will be enough to get things sounding good? I'm not too keen to change the head unit yet. Thoughts? brands?

Welcome. good to see you finally have introduced yourself. :)

Not sure about the dropping in an amp with the existing head unit. Pretty sure there are some integration issues with CANBUS and amps with existing HU or was it new HU with existing amp and needing a harness??

Ask your audio questions in the audio forum, we have some audio nerds here who can correct me if I am wrong. :) Best to check the ins and outs of what you're planning to do before spending the money and finding out it dont work. :D

Welcome!!!!

If you want to utilise your OEM headunit, make sure your amp has line level inputs.

You can then splice into the rear speaker wires to supply a signal for the amp. You can also get converters if the amp doesn't have the correct inputs but may as well source an amp that will work out of the box :)
