Hi all,
Just a quick note to introduce myself. I'm sure you can deduce most of the following from my handle but anyway...
My name is Sarah and I have a 2009 Lancer CJ MY08 VR Platinum edition, Sportback in effect grey.
I love it and think the PLT ed was a great buy (especially for the MMCS) but could benefit from a bit of tweak so I am here to learn how to customise (read cosmetic surgery) while meeting some other CJ owners
So, forgive me if i'm stating the obvious but does anyone else think the CJ looks like a shark from the front? Just wondering...hmm perhaps I shoulda done a poll

Hows it going. Welcome to the Club.
For sure Sarah, your not the only one that likes the sharky front end.
Mine has a front lip on it that makes it look like gills and EVOX eye lids that give it evil eyes!!!!

Hi there Sarah, welcome to ClubCJ.
Certainly a lot of things you can add to the Platinum, cosmetically speaking.
The Melbourne people have meets fairly regularly, just keep an eye on the VIC section of the Regional boards. Meets are a great part of the club; nothing quite like seeing other members' cars and talking to them. We aim to be family friendly too.
PS: Yes, distinctly shark like front on the CJ.

I've already found the 'mitso parts for club members' thread and making a shopping list. Woke the boy up and dragged him to the computer and told him all the things I wanted without taking a breath (getting a bit excited I am).
First I gotta have a chrome grille set and baby needs a new pair of shoes (cos the standard alloys aren't that pretty) and I'm thinking about rear camera for fun, oh and scuffs and maybe a floor console and the list goes on. I'd love to install start button - could I do keyless entry in the platinum?

Hi Sarah and welcome to the club.
From what I have read the starter button is only for the Ralliart up, I have also heard that it is not worth it money as you still have to turn the key on then hold the button until the engine fires.
Anyway enjoy the club and the never ending list of mods that comes with it

Hi Sarah and welcome to the club. I'm sure I read somewhere the CJ was modelled on a Tiger Shark... Look familiar?
I added a Shark Finn antenna to my CJ to complete the look

I didn't know they set out to model it after a tiger shark but it really is similar. Nice concept really, aggressive, blood thirsty, fast, agile, mean.
hahaha i love it. Lukeaday's gills and bobcrusader's fin .... I'm looking for pics of your cars to see your shark mods now

oh and thanks Chubb for the heads up re magic button. Defeats the purpose if you have to turn key with one hand and press a button with the other and bite down on something and raise one leg in the air and whatever else to make it work. I'll just live with what I got

I Photoshopped the mags and the lowered suspension.
These 2 mods are on the current wish list.
The other thing on my wish list is a money tree ready for picking!!!!

Thank you all for your warm welcome. I must admit I was a bit apprehensive to speak up being new to it all and knowing pretty much nothing. But the passion is there, so it counts, right?
Lukeaday, I know what you mean re needing a money tree, car lust is never satisfied, is it? Just gotta learn to live with some envy I think. I'm still thinking cosmetic which isn't so expensive but God help me once I think about tuning it up (goodbye warranty, goodbye salary, goodbye drivers licence)
But seriously, I'm curious about your interest in lowering the suspension. It looks hot but I find already you have to be careful which driveways you turn into and carparks etc - you can scratch the hell out of the underneath keeping it at factory height if you don't pay attention so I wonder how much trouble you could get into with it even lower?

Just remember Sarah, the only silly question is the one that remains unasked
Everyone starts somewhere and we are all happy to help out where we can

Scrapping body panels is the price of Admission for a lowered car, just ask a the members here there are a few on there second set of front lips as their first set where near ground off (looks at LZY_EYE)
