Hey there Rod, welcome to ClubCJ. Also, welcome to the wife (since she drives it more).
I'm sure aspir3 - SA Rep - will look forward to seeing one or both of you at a meet or cruise if you're interested and can make it.
As to the placement of the hand brake, yes you get used to it. It's only really a hassle if you have a tall travel mug in the front most cup holder.

Welcome to the club Rod.
Hmm never really thought of the hand brake location being an issue
I'd say its better for clearer access to the center cup holders for the driver.
Each to our own though
Happy motoring.

Welcome to the club Rod & wife as well!
Hope to see you at a cruise.
I am hoping to catch up with Marsh and organise our next cruise and go-cart night. Details should be up soon!
You are both welcome and don't worry we are not a boys racer club.
Most of us are going through a mid life crissis.
Your wife should come as well, Blackbetty brought his wife on the last one and my wife will probably come to our next.
We all just love our cars and love to catch up with others with the same interest.
Post a few pictures of your new car and planned mods if any and hope to see you soon.

Hi Rod / Missus, welcome to ClubCJ, Lots of people on here to help with any questions you might have about your Lancer. Yes i agree with your comment on the road noise, its not something you'd expect to be so intrusive in a car of Today, not to bad on your suburban smooth road but when you get on the coarse mix / country stuff it is bad. The rest of the car more than makes up for it. I predict you will soon be greeted by Aspir3, top bloke from SA eager to get you to join in on SA activities.
Hope to see some pics of your ride up soon.
Cheers
Eric

What do you think of the fuel consumption in the Lancer, coming from the 6's?
