Aspire time for Brisbane! - mechenggdude

Postby mechenggdude » Sun Jan 24, 2010 12:08 pm

Hi all, some may remember that I was interested in getting an Aspire.

I have bought it and it has been at the dealer since Friday. Currently getting some accessories installed.

They are Parking sensors, window tint, iPod adaptor, carpet mats and a FREE reverse camera.

I got the car through union shopper who gave me a very good deal on the car. They also have some deal with Mitsubishi to give a free accessory.

So if you see a white Aspire at Toowong Mitsubishi it is mine. :)

I am part of the 'Fast and Furious' generation, so I will be modding it when I can. In the immediate future thinking of simple mods like lighting (underbody, interior, grill etc.) and maybe those folding mirrors a lot of you guys have. Any other suggestions?

Oh btw, I got the Aspire for a VRX price.

Nice another Aspire.

I believe you are the second white one.

You will enjoy the parking sensors and the camera. Very sensible and practicably.

If you don't mind to help other future members what price exactly for the car?

I paid $35,000 on road in 2008 which included 12mth rego/insurance($631), Gov stamp duty$1300, dealer delivery, carpet mats, boot flap, Metallic paint, Sunroof+MMCS

Are your accessories genuine Mitsubishi and where are they fitting the camera on the car?

Thanks guys, I'll see about the meet. I have a huge meeting at work on Friday arvo so I may not have the chance. Board of Directors are checking out my thesis project.

The accessories are all genuine mitsubishi. Except for the tinting obviously. The deal was $33000 on the road without 'Comprehensive' insurance. I will probably pay about $700 for that though according to current quotes.

The camera will be just above the numberplate. They wanted to drill a hole into the bumper and I said no. I feel above the number plate makes it a bit discreet.

What do you guys think about the insurance quote? Reasonable? I am 22 in February. Got my licence early 2006. No accidents or infringements against my name as of yet.

Oh btw, the guy at the dealer says my car was builit October 2009. Is that MY09 or MY10? The dealer made it clear that he was getting a MY09 for that price.

my10 have chrome handles and aircond controls.

I have not heard of dealer fitting camera above the number plate. They normally fit it on boot just below Mitsubishi symbol.

Maybe they have been looking at our How to,s. :D

Oooh! I just had a thought. Will I be the first QLD Aspire? Or at least the first Brisbane one?

If I am that just means I am awesome.

For the club, yes I believe you are Brisbane's first.

MY10 production started in August 09 so it seems you have a MY10. But as aspir3 said, Chrome aircon knobs, different handbrake and different instrument cluster will give it away. Oh and aspir3 do you mean chrome exterior handles?

^^^^^
Yes I meant outside chrome door handles.

I am so jealous of all the chrome. I like, I want

I did not realise MY10 had different hand brake handle. Please explain?

I would love to change my vehicle to the MY10 chromed bits, but too pricey. Asked about the handles and believe they were over $500.

Handbrake lever is actually really good now

I wanted Chrome door handles, and I asked about them ages ago (off Outlander) but got told some stupid price. Reason being the smart key

And here is a pic of the MY10 VRX+ Air Con knobs

Going by the prices wreckers charge for standard steering wheels, better off going and getting yours leather wrapped! Costs about $300 to get done.
