Very Newbie

Postby Sniffer » Sat Dec 19, 2009 4:17 pm

Hi Y'all, first time Lancer owner here,We just moved up from an Astra sri and I am so impressed with our new car. Our ride is a Lightning Blue VRX Sportback and love everything about it, can't wait to throw stuff into the hatchback from the first floor window like they do in the ad on TV.

Quick fact:

For that TV Ad, they actually did that for real. Not computer generated at all. Ice into the Esky and everything!!

Welcome onboard. So what made you switch from the Astra SRI?

And as for the add, does anyone still remember the TGA episode? :)

Hey there. First time Lancer owner myself and I made an even bigger step up. Hahah come to think of it it was more of an express lift ride... as my previous set of wheels was a 1977 Corona, 100% stock right down to the AM only press button radio and carby'd 18R-C with an auto.

Enjoy the site and your CJ.

My 2002 Astra SRI was a great ride, sold it with 265,000K's, time to move up. I have noticed much road/tyre noise from the VRX as many others have reported. My thinking is insufficient sound deadening overall. As a comparison the sound system in the VRX at regular levels can be heard quite clearly outside the car while my experience with the SRI was a totally soundproof cabin, nothing escaped, so maybe it's not all tyre fault, just too much noise getting into the cabin. Having said all that, I wouldn't trade my VRX for anything.
