Hi All,
I just purchased a Silver 2008 CJ. I was looking for some info on modding it and came across this forum from a link on whirlpool.
Minimalistix.

I am specifically looking to upgrade the MMCS head unit to something more modern. I would like to replace it with the Kenwood DDX918WS but keep the factory steering wheel controls, speakers, sub and RF amp. I am still trawling through the info on this site regarding what i actually need to do that.
I am pretty happy with the performance, it has an MRT exhaust and mild ECU tune from S&J.
Its been lowered 25mm and the factory BBS rims have been powder coated black.

Welcome to the club, I think I found this group through Image searches
Nice looking EVO you have there, how much would you be willing to part with the MMCS for
plenty of options for upgrades, there is a thread in here somewhere about upgrading to the kenwood or android units, and also in the EVO section you will find plenty of knowledge for other performance upgrades

Thanks for the warm welcome
I am from around the Salisbury area.
Not looking to sell the MMCS, as i would put it back in the car if i was to sell it.
I do have a question about my car though, from what i can tell the bonnet vents and the ones on the guards are usually black. Mine are colour coded silver, is this normal? I kinda think that black would look better.

If you don't ask you don't know
I think usually they are black yes, someone may have colour coded them as a preference, not being the first owner it would be hard to tell, you could look at the underside of them, or possibly unscrew one and take it out to look for over spray marks, or any hints it may have been black.
Having them contrast the car would definitely scream "look at me I has turbo!" but the stealth look of colour matching may make people at first glance mistake you for just another Lancer then as you scream by on the track they can be like "oh, s*** it wasn't"

The MR had the vents colour coded. The base model with a manual transmission had black vents
