Good afternoon all. We're the owners of a new ES Lancer Sport which we're loving so far. It joins our 2005 CH Lancer wagon, which has been a brilliant car, and a Corolla in the family. We trust the CJ will be just as a reliable as its siblings!
We did have an ASC error at 35km, but the dealer was excellent, cleared it and its not returned. We put that down to the joys of owning a new car.
Enjoying browsing through the forums, not sure how much I will be able to add but you never know ...

I do like the lightning blue! What's the advice with a new Lancer regarding paint care? Should I wax a new car, or is that a no-no? Post purchase read a horror thread on Whirlpool with lighting blue Lancers losing their clear coat. Or has that been fixed in later models?

I'd wax it, for my used VRX it was well worth it just to know how bad/good the paint was. Being used it has a few scratches and mark but a good wax helped.
IMO being new it's well worth getting some good car wash and wax. I've just started using Bowden's Own, which is made up here in QLD. Also read up on good washing practices like the 2 bucket technique.
Even though it's new I'd also use a clay bar to cleans the paint, first wash the car then do the clay bar and finish off with a full wax. Took me more than a day to do the whole lot.
You'll only need to wax it every 6 to 12 months and once done it makes the weekly (or so) was much easier and quicker.
