Hi everyone. Having joined my wife in retirement a little while ago we came to the realisation that we only needed one car so it was decided to trade in the lancer wagon and the 380. We wanted something sporty looking and not underpowered but also versatile for the odd large item, so a lancer sportsback seemed a likely starter. A month ago I was getting the wagon serviced at my local dealer and there in the showroom was a red lancer GSR which took my fancy. I had been toying with the idea of an LX but the bigger wheels and engine of the GSR were irresistible. Also LXs in sportsback are now pretty rare with the recent model rationalisation. So last Tuesday we put down a deposit on the red machine and picked it up on Friday afternoon.

Loving the car so far but yet to take it on a country drive. I really loved my 380. The only thing I miss from my 380 is the power seat and loving the extra features of the GSR like keyless entry and start, the rear camera, bluetooth streaming, usb connection and the fuel economy. Can't wait to take the new car for a country drive as it seems just as quick as the 380 and is certainly much more nimble.

Thanks for the welcomes. Took the car out for a spin to Daylesford today and really happy with the fuel economy ( got 7.7 on the average readout). I found the car very comfortable and relaxed to drive with good performance. Really pleased with the handling; much sharper than the 380 but a little less grunt. Not planning to doing any mods given my age and warranty considerations.

Welcome to the club. Sportsbacks are so under rated! But they definitely have their charm
