Hi there club members!

Finally decided to join....What made me do it? After I bough my AWSOME 2010 lancer SE CVT...for the wife...I found that I didn't like the CVT that much, was stuck with the car because I couldn't afford another one. I paid it off last year and started to have a little fun with it! Found out Ralliart stuff and EVO x stuff where pretty direct swap! AWSOME! But I have a CVT! No worry, YOUR SITE made me discover I could swap a GTS Sportshift in my lancer!!!! And bam......On my way, I hope, to a turbo setup.

Anyway, thanks for all the great info and work guy and galls, you made a happy CVT lancer owner!

Cheers

Martin

Well here is the CVT transmission cooler install:

-Mishimoto oil cooler with fan
-GTS transmission oil cooler/warmer
-oil hose
-misc. fittings and bolts...
-ENEOS CVT oil!!!!!!

Remove airbox, batterie, tray (which is a real pan in the but, there are 12 mm bolt under the tray and they are HARD to reach!!!) and this is what you see:
Image

REMOVE OIL!!!!!!!!

ES oil cooler/warmer removed and replaced by GTS one. Notice the difference...GTS has 2 external adapter for oil cooler....ES and DE don't!

When you unplug the coolant lines, BEWARE!!! It will leak coolant from the tube to the radiator!!!! And its a BIG leak so be prepared!! I had to plug the hose with my thumb and finish the GTS oil cooleréwarmer install with one hand!!!!!!! THAT WAS ALSO A PAIN!!!! (I was alone..)

Mishimoto oil cooler install. Depending on how you install the cooler, the fan will be facing in or out. Mine is facing the back cause I opted for a "puller" type fan. If you want the fan to push the air, make it face the front of the vehicule. When you plug the fan, the PULLER type will have the BLUE wire on the POSITIVE of the battterie, for the PUSHER fan the BLACK will be on POSITIVE instead

Put in the oil...good to go...NO MORE WHINE in the tranny and NO MORE SLIP

This is the oil I used for my CVT transmission...Hopefully will be better than the CVT-j1 and j4...

I bought last summer a used painted CF hood at a good price (with the rest of the body kit) when the front end of my car got smashed. The paint started to crack in some places, so I decided to strip/sand it to repaint it and this is what I found...

Image

Up to 1.5" of the where you see the pain,t was covered in BONDO....Damn people dont used bondo on a CF OR fiberglass hood...Its not flexible and WILL crack...

Image

Even the old clear/epoxy finish was cracked and then it made the Bondo crack therefore the paint also did crack in the process...

Image

NICE FREAKING DAMAGE to the lip of the hood...

Image

I think I can save it though.....

MORE WORK THAT WAS NOT PART OF THE ORIGINAL PLAN!!!!!
