Hello from Europe

Postby Marty » Thu Aug 22, 2013 3:34 pm

Hi everyone!
I'm Marty, I live in Switzerland and I'm the proud owner of 2 Lancers Ralliart. The older one is a 2007 equiped with a 4G63 (non turbo) engine which I'bought from new, and the new one is a 2011 4B11 Turbo, bought back in June this year with 16000 kms on board.
What am I doing here? Looking for some help an answers for my new Ralliart, 'cause for the moment the old Ralliart drives 10 times better.

Hey, guys!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I'll post few pictures in few hours.

Well, the European Lancer Ralliart (previous model, aka Lancer VII, built between 2003 and 2007) came with a 4G63 fitted as standard. It is a non turbo version and it has 136 BHP with 176 Nm.

Well, it looks like a regular Lancer front WD, only that it has sport suspension (hence is lower and stiffer), front+rear+side skirts, EVO 8/9 dash panel + steering wheel, short shifter, metal pedals.
By the way, both cars are in the stock configuration.

Well... I see that the model it's been sold in Australia as well, named Lancer CH VR-X.
I have uploaded few pictures in the garage, not good quality though.

Not really. I see that your VR-X has a 2.4 liter engine, naturally aspired. My Ralliart (the CJ so to speak) has a 4B11, 2.o liter engine, turbocharged.

Over here CH VR-X run a 4G69 motor, hence the 2.4L
CH Ralliart was an american thing, equivalent to our CH VR-X
Now that Ralliart has been reformed they rebadged the american 'Ralliart' to a 'GTS'

I never knew they did an N/A 4G63. Would be so simply to Turbo

Welcome to the club by the way :D

Believe me, my CH is a fun car to drive, especially on curvy roads. It is absolutely neutral when cornering and seems to be on rails no matter how fast you take the curve. And, guess what? Comes as standard. :D
