Hi Guys!,

Just bought a 2009 Lancer ES Sportback.

Definitely looking forward to seeing a few of your cars soon!, first mods I've got an order are 18" VRX Wheels (should be here on Tuesday), I want to power coat them Gun Metal or Grey so if anyone knows a good/not too expensive place, let me know :)

Will post pics later!

Cheers,

Dave

Cheers Guys!

Yea, would love it if anyone here has them powder coated in grey, gun metal, black and could post a pic :)

Car is white, so thinking
1. Blacked out grill
2. Grey VRX wheels
3. Red brake calipers and Mitsubishi badges
4. De-badged on the rear

That's all I've got planned for the moment.

Can't wait to get cracking! Although struggling to find 'Plasti Dip' :/

Cheers Loule!

Right so... I got my hands on a set of VRX wheels which was my first mod! :D woooo!

Ran into a little snag, all 3 tyres are perfect except 1!!.

Went to the garage today to pump the tyres to the correct PSI (32 front, 36 rear) I'm sure someone will correct me if this is wrong.

I found that 1 of the tyres had the middle pin missing from the valve and so wouldn't hold the air in!, I managed to screw the cap on quickly but obviously I don't wanna be driving around on it!, is there anything I can do or am I destined to buy a new tyre? :'(

See pics!

it just needs the pin replaced go to a tyre shop and get them to put one in, you can also get them from any auto parts store, easy fix, worst case you may need a new valve.

Awesome!, Cheers!

Is there a how to guide anywhere?

Or is it easier to just get a garage to sort the pin out?

Thanks

it's easy but the garage may have to tool needed to put it in, you need to ask for a valve insert and may need a valve tool to put it in, just as easy to get a tyre shop to do it for you, they may even do it for free

Why will I need a new valve?

Sorry, I'm kinda new to this whole thing.

Cheers

Heating the rim is part of powdercoating process, we need to take off the valve otherwise it will melt and ruin the finish. Unfortunately, valve is one-off use.
