Thought I'd join up as have just traded my 2002 Mini Cooper S in for a Lancer - my aunty had an LA in 1974 and we've had early 90's GSR in the family before (when they were new back then).

Thanks for the welcome guys - been reading this and that and the info and experiences are great! Didn't know there was such a big community around these models which is great to see such support. Confirms I made the right choice in the CJ..

A cruise and meet up sounds good - where and when are these usually held??

My "no mods" plan is due maxing out the budget on the change over from the Cooper plus with two small kids (you know the story... LOL)
