Hey everyone
Real first name: Mitch Hoffman
Location: Adelaide, SA
Model: 2011 Ralliart
Colour: Black
General interests: Cars in general
Current mods: HKS super hybrid filter, 18inch Rota dpts
Planned mods: fmic, bov, smoked tail lights/head lights, 3inch cat and tune
Just a quick question, I have been reading these forums for a while and there is a lot of talk about aftermarket parts voiding the warranty but I read on a different forum that evo x parts such as a evo x fmic is not considered aftermarket and would not void the warranty.. is this true?

Welcome to the club.
Aftermarket parts can only void warranty if those parts are proven to cause a fault that directly results from that part.
Eg: faulty oem headunit after you put in a new exhaust system... Not related so therefore can't void warranty

Welcome to the club Mitch.
Voiding warranty is a contentious subject.
All we can say is if the after market part is found to be the cause of a break down then no you will not be covered by warranty. You cant expect Mitsubishi to cover engine running gear if the power output has been increased.

Fair enough! Makes sense, but do you think oem evo x parts are considered aftermarket (I presume they are) but just out of curiosity. Thanks for the welcome too! I'm interested in getting a new exhaust, fmic and a tune but im debating its worth voiding the warranty in case something happens to my transmission or what not.

Mitch I am from Adelaide too. We have some excellent tuners here. SKR is probably the best around although he is hard to get into and does not like the CJ model.
Others are Mike Dale and Willall racing.
Other then that you can drive to NSW and get Merlin to tune it.
What are you trying to achieve(kw)?

Ive been looking into SKR and its fairly close to me so that's definitely where id go to. I would really like to push my car to its limits as a daily driver without sacrificing the sst box. I'm just interested in getting some more mods before I go in.. do you know how much it is for a tune, ive emailed SKR but they never replied.

Dont bother emailing Steve as his inbox is always full. Steve is a great person to deal with but you are best to go in and see him.
I dont know how much he will charge you. My guess is between $600-1000. It all depends on how long he spends on your car. If he has a def file and has tuned a RA before then he will not take long.
Talk to Steve about what parts you need for you desired power output. Dont bother reading forums as they will only confuse you. You can trust Steve as he is very honest and really knows Mitsubishi's.

No problems.
I hope to see you and your car on a cruise one day.
Also AAA Exhaust at Richmond are very good for exhaust if you want custom or you have plenty of options for after market bolt on systems.
If you join up as a Premium member you will also have access to the tuning section on the forum which may help you.
