yep its supposed to be according to the manual I have . . .but . . . the steeringwheel controls as mentioned in thre manual are not there, cause I never specified to have bluetooth installed as an optional extra when I got the car, and consequently, neither is the touch screen phone button that is in the manual either. If there was some way to activate that, I would not need any physical buttons on the steeringwheel or anywhere else, and could just use the screen to call or answer calls . . . but I am just not sure if thats possible. I cant believe how difficult this is

Welcome John. I'm actually from Cairns, so good to see some more locals on the forum.
Have you tried the Ireland's dealership in cairns? They might be a tad expensive at times but they might at least be able to give you some info on what you need.

hey Craigeth . . . yeah its nice to know I'm not alone up here :) . . . no I have not tried Irelands . . . they were next on my list . . . but I am gonna wait till ofey gets back to me with what his parts guys have come up with before I do anything else. Basically the guy from Mareeba Mitsubishi referred me back to Reddings here in Atherton who didnt really have much of an idea at all when I spoke to them . . . and just didnt get the feeling that they wanted to go out of their way to chase this up for me . . . whereas it felt like ofey was willing to do that, so I will stick with him for now :)
