Hey fellas..
a question... does the lancer SX come with 'Map Lamps' by default?
I noticed a few SX models..that did not have bluetooth..did not have map lamps. But the ones that had bluetooth...also had map lamps. Whats the deal?
and they were both MY11 plated.
Also what would be the best value accesories that I could get the dealer to include in the DA price? My prefrences...not in any order are.
1. Mats
2. Seat Covers(not sure about quality/fabric type)
3. Fog Lamps
4. Bonnet Protector(read too many paint chip stories LOL)
5. Weather-shields (?)
6. Outer scuff plates
7. Foot-well lights (blue)
8. Side protection moldings
9. Sports Grille (now I'm being greedy..or am I?)
10. Sideskirt Airdams with mudflaps
Please feel free to suggest/remove from this list.
Thanks heaps

Yeah I used to play BC2, might get back into it too. I hope you've pre ordered Battlefield 3, it's shaping up to be a fantastic game by the looks of it!
Not that it matters because the price differences are so large compared to the new lancers, but I got my 2009 VR for $25250 with mats, and high rise spoiler (or low rise, I can't remember).
As for the paint chips, I don't think you'll get that many in Perth... I drive mine at least 50km daily and I only have three or four tiny unnoticeable chips after 2 years.

We have our own internal ways of sourcing for the extras you want.
Check the OEM parts thread
I would advise you just to knock the price AS LOW AS POSSIBLE. Tell them you're NOT going to ask them for anything. Just bare car.

@Rahul,
Thanks mate. I am trying to get a price...but no dealer is ready to give me a price without me signing on the dotted line..!! All they say is you can put an offer..and we can see...blah blah blah..!
Any advise would be most appreciated.
@Ofey,
Yeah I browsed through the OEM parts thread last night...and came up wit that list. Becase the dealership I went to last night said "I can't offer much discount on RRP - but you can put in MANY accessories" But thanks anyways for the heads up. You're doing an awseome job for the club.

Hey Ravi,
If the dealers aren't willing to budge unless you sign ask to talk directly to the manager. He will usually come and finalise the deal anyway. You can get more leeway with him. Just let them know you are ready to buy TODAY and not just browsing. Tell them the price you want to pay (albeit reasonable) and see how close they can get. It helps to bring along someone who has thick skin or who is very stubborn!
Many of the accessories they can also chuck in for free or very discounted.
I got the floor mats for $50.
Best of luck haggling! Remember, you have the power, you can walk out at any time.

Yeah..Thats what I'm going to do...If the sales guy doesn't give me a price...I'll ask to talk to the manager. Yeah..'stubborn' I need to learn that ART!!!
Thank you soooo much for your 'timely' advise. About to go shopping

So where did you end up getting it from and why? If I may ask... ?
I'm waiting on a final quote from a dealer...99% it will be effect grey.. depending on availability.
Edit: Is it more than just choosing the lowest quote..? How you were treated etc..!!If I take that into consideration..the lowest quote dealer is losing by miles!! If you know what I mean.

Yes, pit dealers against each other. And price should be your only concern. Who cares about customer service. You are there for one reason only, to buy a car for a cheap as possible. You're only going to be in there that one day to haggle and one more day to pick it up.
Often the dealers will try and "befriend" you or loop you in emotionally. Ignore all that and focus on the price only.
This may sound harsh but I went through the exact same scenario at the beginning of this year and I look back and think how much of an idiot I was getting convinced of their "lowest" price. You can always go lower.
I went from 31000 for my VRX down to 27500.
