Welcome! Mate - I know what fawad's talking about! RIIIIGHT before I got my lancer, I was telling everyone I knew that I was getting one and was met with comments like:

"what u want a little buzz-box like that for?"
"why don't u get a bottle of OJ? more litre-age"
"eh, so a small car ay?"

There's a lot of ppl out there despite the ads on TV etc, who think we're buying old lancer mirages or something instead of the new BEAST that the lancer (esp. ralliart) has become...

The new model, totally not a downgrade from a RAV4 in my opinion... I had the same issues - your friends will understand once you have it - and if they don't, they're working for toyota :-P

Welcome Fawad!

Thanks guys. This has been a very warm welcome by the community. I hope I can be a help for others and my presence enriches the club.

What downgrade

Lol man :p. I wouldn't compare the two to be honest. Even though I would have more space in the back, Ralliart was a pleasant surprise for me. I was in between WRX and this but man Ralliart looks way better. I just hope the black one is as good as the others. I still haven't seen one in real.

I agree. That's probably is one of my explanations ;)

Lethal_1 wrote:U still keep the 4WD, only it's waaaaaayyyyyyyy better.!!

Yeah, I think Ralliart has much better control and grip. I've read a few comments on the tyres and that would be the only upgrade I'll be looking for in the near future. There is a lot to learn IMHO about this beast.

That would be the most precise answer to the downgrade logic I mentioned. I keep telling them that the luggage size is the only thing I'll miss from RAV4. When I drove a RA, it blew me away. As for now, I'm keeping a low profile and once my ride is here, they'll know what I am talking about :d

Yea I too was fussy about boot space and modular space management for loading a large amount of things into the car etc, hence why I choose a Sportback, can easily fit 2x full size mountain bikes in the back no worries and the rear seats fold flat with the boot like a bed with a single handle pull. That's what sold me to it amoungst other things lol.

Yessssssss! Friends Ralliart has arrived..

Any tips?? I was told that the car likes to Rev-up to settle the engine but at the same time I have to avoid going to the Red-Zone.. I did 100K's in the first day.. sheesh I am loving it..

Don't baby the car, make sure you rev throughout the rev range. Try and do some decent 0-100 spirited take offs.

Saying that, my car went for a 100km trip down the F3 the day after I owned it. My car has never been babied!!

Most of all, enjoy your RA, awesome car :)
