I believe I have a mechanical mind. Will definitely keep in mind doing it myself but will still need a full alignment? Anyway I got quoted $705 for everything done. Would you recommend buying springs online then? Any brand recommendations either?

King springs, teins, etc. There is plenty of info in the suspension threads regarding all the different types and lowering heights.
$700 sounds excessive. You can do it yourself and get an realignment for just over $100. Save plenty.
