Carbon Fiber Hood

Postby minime321 » Sun Mar 22, 2015 4:11 pm

I've been looking at getting a carbon fiber hood from body kits kingdom, specifically this one http://www.bodykitskingdom.co.uk/magent ... ancer.html
Just wondering if anyone here has a hood from them and what their opinion about it is.

Although that is a very nice hood, i'm not sure if it is worth $850. It just depends if you are interested in the evo style hood or the carbon fibre look.

I personally would buy a wrecked evo hood and overlay it with very good quality carbon fibre vinyl. Would save you lots of money and could be a nice project to work on.

It all comes down to amount of money available and how much time you want to spend on this aspect of the car.

Goodluck whatever you decide :D

Also not sure if CF hoods are legal in AU unless fitted from the factor. But some here have them and not been hassled so buyer beware.

Personally I'd get one from an RA or EVO and wrap it, save a heap, it's legal and unless you wanted to save a few KG for racing will be just as good.

I bought stuff from them and had fitment issues. However, a lot of aftermarket parts don't fit well (and some do). Don't know about their bonnets though

Bad experience with them here as well when I bought a lip, build quality was horrid and didn't fit.

If you're after carbon it's best not to cheapen out. Try these guys instead imo. http://carbonplusoz.com/categories.php? ... ishi/EVO-X

They are illegal. End of story unless the car comes from the factory i.e. Ferrari with CF body parts.
