I have just purchased 2012 aspire... It makes a funny noise when you take off but goes away when rpm is higher. It's as if something is loose. When engine gets warmer it gets better As well, it only has 20000ks on clock. Should I take it to the dealer? Noise seems to be when in gear only as well...it is a CVT . Any suggestions? Cheers

Is the moo sound fixable? Also noticed a slight constant squealing noise when in gear and stationary?

I think that's normal mate. My old CVT made noises when I took off. But does it sound like a tractor or something? Take it to the dealer if you are worried :)

You can always get it checked out anyways, it would be in warranty still anyways, so get it checked then if you wish! I know CVT Lancers can be a little nosiy, however I own a manual but I have heard a few people complain about it on here!

Not quite like a tractor but more like a plastic cover is loose or something under engine bay...CVT is awesome ya wouldn't even know when it shifts gears

Jules don't forget that CVTs are known as Moo-VTs on here. ;)

take it to mitsubishi to get checked out , better to be safe than sorry the CVT transmission will make an initial mooish sound at take off but will do it every time to take off, is it fixable ... NO .... can you mask it YES re move all you resonators and change your exhaust to a sports exhaust to make it louder that will mask the MOO noise a little , i believe though from what you have said that they maybe a slight underlining issue with your CVT , not to make u worried at all , i would pop into a mitsubihsi dealer explain your concerns and get them to check over it , i do not think it will be that serious as you are obviously not seeing any service lights or service messages on your dash , so if anything, just for piece of mind take it in and let them have a look .... btw welcome to club CJ

fix for the CVT...remove resonators, love it...thanks for the responses, I will take it to our only dealer up here which I absolutely demise... But on saying that I'm looking forward to another challenge, long story with my Triton ute!
