Hi all, i need lil advice

Postby INVUR-1 » Sun May 22, 2011 10:51 am

Hi everyone, im going to buy a new 2011 MITSUBISHI LANCER CJ MY11 SX
within the next 2 weeks or so.

I want to install evo 10 body kit in near future. My only concern is that i saw the year range it state only from 08 - 10 model. Is that mean it is not suitable for MY2011 ??

Should i buy MY2011 or MY2010 ????

Im really confuse ???

Thanks in advance

Andrew, the MY or Manufacture Year doesn't affect anything. A MY08 Lancer has the same body dimensions as a MY11.

Please ignore Mitch's first post. What he says there is NOT true. An OEM Evo Bodykit will NOT fit on a SX.

The thing is the chassis are similar between the Naturally Aspirated (NA) and Ralliart (RA), however, the Evo has a wider dimension.

So you can fit the RA's front and Rear bars onto a NA Lancer. I have done this to my car and you can see it in the garage section. It is a direct bolt on. The information is comprehensively covered in a post here. So you can check out the costs associated with this conversion ~ A$3000 for the front and rear + a change of muffler will be necessary.

You could strap the Evo bars onto your car but it will require alot of adaptation like plastic cutting and welding. Not a direct bolt on.

The kit Mitch has been talking is a REPLICA which most of us now can tell ISN"T an Evo. Check Mitch's garage to see an e.g. Though its good enough to con most lay people. Preston Motors in Campbellfield is able to supply a standard Lancer with this bodykit. Having said it's a con, it does do a good job in improving the appearance of the bog standard lancer.

I would suggest you come along to one of the many VIC meets before you buy so you can check out some of the rides and be more educated about the Lancer before you buy.
