Welcome to the club and congrats on the birth of your son,you must be over the moon at the moment. :)
In regards to car delivery,i was very fortunate that i had to wait only 3 days. The car i chose was in stock in the holding yard, and all they had to do is pre-delivery and was ready.

I think its just luck and how good of a dealer you go to. I have heard countless times of people being mucked about etc with delivery of there car.People waiting weeks, months for there car,and then sometimes you get there to pick it up and its the wrong colour or wrong model. Im sure a lot of people have gone thru that drama.

An as aspir3 said, this time of year people on leave etc can delay a delivery, and with the current situation up here in QLD,dosent help either.
However before you know it you will have the car and im sure you will get years of trouble free motoring.
Take care :)

Yeah Gleno, when i signed for it on the 27th I was told it was in stock at burleigh, so not too happy about the misinformation. as it turns out the car im now getting will have 2011 compliance plates which is good, they have given me a few things for free to keep me happy, and having a car to put through its paces in the meantime is pretty sweet.
As it stands im pretty sure the car will be available before my banks systems are restored, in the meantime i have a much better car to drive than my little P.O.S festiva :-D

Finally after 3 weeks waiting, I've finally had my first drive of my brand spanking new silver SX. To update from my last post, The car had been sitting at the Port of Brisbane compliance facility waiting for the port to reopen after the flooding. I got the good news yesterday arvo and then got a call first thing this morning to come pick it up. After arranging one of the largest cheques I've yet held in my hot little hands, I rocked up eager as a beaver to get out of the place in my new wheels.
The dramas seem to want to follow me around, because at the last minute they sprung on me the P.O.S Festiva I was trading in has apparently come up on the REVS check with an outstanding debt from 2003!!!! The paperwork also says the finance companies interest expired in Nov 2008, but somewhere along the line it was never lifted, and in between the car has been sold privately at least twice that I know of since then. My now ex-wife bought the car from her brother-in-law in March 2009, he swears he did a REVS check when he bought it to do up and resell, go figure.
In any case I know its not the car yards problem, but have to give them a nod since they have straight away hit up St George Finance with a WTF, they should get back to me in the morning. So that I could drive my new car away I had to shell out $1000 on the VISA just in case, got an iron-clad guarantee that once the REVS drama is sorted out they will refund my $1000 immediately.

As for the car, I figured it was only fitting to take it out for a spin, took a friend up to Mt Coot-tha and was very happy at how it corners like its on rails, accellerates beautifully uphill and stops on a dime when the tool in front decides to stop without warning or indicating.

Got home tonight and put on the blackout vinyl trim i picked up from Jerryme (thanks dude) and although it was a challenge to get all the bubbles out I can live with the result since it was my first mod. Also got some of the chrome trim from supercheap for bout $21 which will go on the car first thing in the morning.

Looking forward to coming to a club meet some time soon, this weekend i have a family booking.

Yay, got the good word that my trade in now has clear title (lzy banks not bothering to lift their interest once someone elses loan is paid out)

Going to be good getting the $1000 back, unfortunately wont see it for long, going straight back onto the credit card so i can get rid of it and pay of the car quick stix
