Hi all, looking for some advice

Postby Sto0ge » Sun Dec 12, 2010 8:58 pm

Hello everyone,

Just wanting to introduce myself here before i start things off soo...
My names Scott, i'm from Melbourne and i own a Lancer VRX :)

Just wondering if some people could offer me some more advice as i'm new to this website.

Looking to buy a few things first of all:
V-lip
side fenders
front side number plate

and then maybe some other things that i have yet to decide on...

just wondering if you guys could recommend places to get it? and also if places like scorpionmotorsport on ebay are any good?

Thanks in advance for your input

Scott :)

GDay Scott and Welcome to ClubCJ
Try using the search function on the toolbar it will save you a lot of time
Our sponsors are listed on the forum sub menus as well
Places like X Factor and ARS for example, stock what you need
There's a wealth of modding info for your CJ here so ask away and the members will guide you....

Everything you listed can be bought from within the club, through sponsors etc so you wont have to risk anything with ebay vendors.

With the license plate mount id suggest you look into legalities (if you care) because i think NSW (we just cant have ANY fun at all) deems them illegal.

Look around the club, do some searches and you'll see that there is an incredible amount of things you can buy :)
Red goes faster. MUCH faster.

well, another guy in Melbourne has the side number plate holder, so don't think it should be an issue. as long as it's visible from the front, it should be ok.

in regards to the parts, as suggested, have a search through the forum first.

though, off the top of my head, I don't think I've ever seen or heard of any side fenders available for us.

My best advice to you is to be patient and take your time. Don't expect your car to mod itself overnight and don't try and burn the hole in your pocket instantly. Read, consider and come for meets to get a better idea of what the mods look like in real life. Also keep a look out for group buys. This will save you alot of cash. We run group buys nearly every month. The question then is how your wallet keeps up.

There are alot of cheaper products available around. For e.g. we bring on different sponsors with different price ranges which helps different people with different pockets. How some body kit companies save on cost is the material used. Fibreglass is cheaper and easier to manufacture. It however cracks much readily. Not necessarily bad for a rear bumper bar but for a front bumper bar, not the right choice. Also cheaper bodykits have poorer fitment. End of the day, you do get what you pay for.

As Kinesis mentioned we're having a meet up for X'mas this Friday. Feel free to drop by. We're a very friendly lot and don't bite.

Welcome to the club mate !

Firstly you can start off by getting a set of Volk Racing RE30s to really change the look of your car .... and so happen i have one for sale ! Marketing much :D

Anyways , have fun modding your car and remember to take it slow as modding is about enjoying the mods that you've worked hard for and put together , unless you have the dough for it , go crazy :)
