I picked up my car on Friday without incident and am loving it. I have spent the weekend getting used to driving it and gave it a good clean inside and out since the detailers at Zupps didn't do a good job at all. I've also applied a Meguiars interior protectant product on my dash etc and scotch guarded the seats.

Is it just me, or is red a dirt magnet? Every time I look at it, I feel like I have to wash it again. And earlier today I was messing around with the stereo and found that one of my mixes didn't work in it (wma format, not mp3). I went inside to re-burn it and later came back outside to found that a bird had thoroughly gone to the bathroom on my drivers side door, underneath my double carport.

I also called Tint-A-Car to enquire about tinting and UV film and was invited to go check out a VRX they were working on as I called. They had Midnight Express (35) on the front windows and UV film on the rest, which matched up quite nicely with the privacy glass and quoted me $295 for the same. However, their warranty doesn't cover scratching. I've read all the threads here on tinting but there doesn't seem to be a consensus on whether the scratching still occurs on tints?

Didnt i read that the rear VRX windows already stop most UV?? Thus they dont need aftermarket UV film on them. Might be a way of saving yourself some cash if its not needed.

Thanks Ken, I bought it from Zupps Aspley, which ended up being the only dealer I had been speaking to that could get me a MY10 CVT in red.

As for the service, it seemed ok-ish. Had many times when the salesman would take off for longish periods and leave us sitting there and I was close to just walking out of there, but my partner kept telling me to calm down. But he did end up doing a very thorough handover, although I had to remind him to fill up the fuel tank.

We also ended up getting the price we wanted to pay, so it seemed all good in the end and I have a beautiful vehicle sitting in my driveway. :)

hey Kristy, welcome aboard.

i wouldnt pay to get the rear windows tinted or coated, just do the fronts, 20% is a close match for the rear privacy glass, mine has 20% on the front

Thanks for this info, I just re-read a tinting thread and confirmed this to be the case, which will save me a lot of money as otherwise the fronts are $65 per door for Midnight Express.
