I wouldn't imagine our lancers have a wire. I'd imagine our factory tacho runs off the etac. You maybe able to connect it to a coil on the cylinder head but I'd think it's more work then it's worth and going to look very messy with wires everywhere and the tacho looking out of place I was thinking ...

I assume the wires your looking for are the ones that connect to rear of the instrument cluster itself. As a guess since everything works when revved I'd say you have a low voltage problem, possibly caused by a short circuit somewhere or a faulty alternator/serpentine belt. I'm keen on getting a pair of Saas buckets seats in my lancer but I'm wondering if there would be any issues with the airbags Iv got a 2009 Es so it only has the front air bags I'm pretty sure and not on the sides ? Cheers
