Re: Hello Guys, Have a rattle in my dashboard

Hello Guys, Happy to be here. I was wondering if someone had the same issue , I newly bought Lancer but I am hearing annoying rattle sound in the dashboard like a vibrating sound because of something loose, I don't know exactly. but If someone had the same issue or had removed this rattle please sh...

Re: Hello Guys, Have a rattle in my dashboard

mine had rattle sound, but came from engine bay and only during certain RPMs.

Not that it's the same, but maybe you'll find something viewtopic.php?f=78&t=18836

Re: Mitsubishi recalls 500,000 cars in AU

"because the bonnet can fly open while driving..." -> epic fail...

And very surprised that Nissan doesn't do it. I believe it's mandatory by ACCC for car maker informing its customer reg recalls. Maybe it's differ from each dealership, but I think company wise they should do it.

Re: Mitsubishi recalls 500,000 cars in AU

Yup, make sense. But my Lancer had an issue with a stretched Drive Belt couple of weeks ago, therefore I just want to double check if it's related with the previous recall and if the previous owner had it done.

Re: Mitsubishi recalls 500,000 cars in AU

Done my Lancer this morning, it was a 40 mins work for me. When I drove in the Service Manager was already on standby and took my car to the service area immediately while I looked around and had a cup of latte. After the service, I can feel that the switch becomes more rigid and more "clicky&q...

Re: Mitsubishi recalls 500,000 cars in AU

New ETACS ECU maybe I can get them to activate a few things like having the doors lock when you go over 30kph. Wonder how this might effect my Instrument Cluster upgrade I have now planned for next week? I'll get on to them in the morning but if the last recall for the drive belts is any guide odds...

Re: Mitsubishi recalls 500,000 cars in AU

Got mine scheduled for the recall fix this Friday. They said it's going to take 30 mins and I can just wait for it.
- Sign and wiper switch replacement
- no ECU replacement etc

Will let you guys know my experience when I'm done.

Re: [Help] Do I need CVT Service?

Brought my car to workshop (I gave up on finding the source myself) and surprisingly the issue is the Drive Belt ! The darned belt is already stretched and flapping around on certain RPM, thus knocking the heck out of the engine bay. Maybe similar with this smiley *facepalm* The mechanic is ...

Re: Mitsubishi recalls 500,000 cars in AU

I doubt they would have my email as I bought it second hand and never re-registered it with mitsubishi or anything. The recalls.gov.au site lists the VIN # ranges affected, can confirm mine may be affected by the second one, the signal and lighting switch oxidation issue. Same with me, I bought it ...

Re: [Help] Do I need CVT Service?

Isolate it some more - I'd be tempted to find a safe road that you can get to speed in, and drop it in neutral so you can be sure it's not bearing noise (i.e. with the tranny in neutral you are effectively ensuring the noise isn't related to wheel bearings, brakes, cv joints). If there's no noise r...

Re: [Help] Do I need CVT Service?

i can hear that very low end sound but it is difficult to put my finger on what it could be. it may be worthwhile to check easy things like the airbox being clipped in and seated correctly. it can be a pain and when not seated correctly can allow for air to bypass the filter creating a loud low end...

Re: [Help] Do I need CVT Service?

CVT's are much louder than standard Automatic transmissions. Its usually heard when just cruising. But of course, not being able to hear the sound - it is hard to tell. Hello, I've uploaded the video via YouTube https://youtu.be/axPL5hHLo3s Any guess would be ultra helpful, it's driving me crazy :s...

Re: [Help] Do I need CVT Service?

would probably be a little more help if we had audio of the problem. can you replicate it whilst stationary, engine warm\cold? any check engine lights? bad fuel economy or performance ? does the car have any modifications to engine or exhaust? Hello, I've uploaded the sound in YouTube https://youtu...

Thank you :)

That's a great Lancer you have over there  the stripe LED light gives a degree of European feels into it.
