Mine did the exact same thing it is only a year old though. Problem was that the piston rings were stuck leading to no compression.

If it's under Stat warranty there are certain things they are required to fix. Usually if buying from a dealer other than the manufacturer (ie Holden not mitsubishi) Holden will send it to another Mitsubishi dealer to diagnose and hopefully repair if its covered. No harm in trying.

And Welcome :)

I do my oil every 10000km and a proper service every six months. I do understand that I do a fair few k's a year but the oil has pretty much been perfect every time we've drained and replaced it. Wasn't a demo. I had to order from factory and waited four months for it. it was actually one of the fir...

The engine definitely wasn't flooded. My problem is that nobody has given me a straight story and stuck with it. I work at a Holden dealership now and as Much as I would have preferred I can't take it there for warranty work. On Monday the service manager is emailing me the job card and a complete r...

So the latest story is that it wasnt hot oil but hot water. "steam was used to build pressure to fix the compression issues". The engine wasn't seized it just had no compression (which I know because that's what I told them). They still haven't told me how they diagnosed that and what caus...

The story is now that it may not have been seized at all and nobody knows their shit right now. I'll be taking it to another mit...

Just called another Mitsubishi dealership and they said it was the most rediculous thing they've ever heard they are going to get the foreman to call me back when he's free.
If I do pick it up tomorrow I'm going straight to another dealership to get a second opinion.

So supposedly my engine seized, but they said there was no enging damage and they've poured hot oil over it to unsieze it. I'm a little concerned to just accept that though, They couldn't tell me why it happened just that they've seen it on a colt and a lancer in the last few weeks? Should I get my ...

For all those wanting to make sure they still get 5/130km warranty make sure it's written down in your contracts before the new changes come into effect. If your car is delivered after the cut off you may get the new 5/100km. I remember we discovered a few unhappy customers when mitsubishi phased ou...
