So I've had the car for a few weeks and all is well except for an annoying grinding/creaking sound when braking. And it's something that seems worse when it's cold, although I'm finding it hard to prove that. It's speed dependent. It's only there when braking and not when slowing down with the engin...

Got the car back! It all appears to be ok. One wheel replaced, the other was apparently repaired. They both appear brand new. New bumper, and guard, with fresh paint. I wonder if it's thicker paint than factory? ;) That's all the external stuff. Apparently the rear suspension was also slightly damag...

This is probably more for my reference than anything else, but here we go: http://www.clubcj.net/cached_images/1372292301_1_PB_6526_0.jpg The pin is where I hit the curb. The first 90 degree turn on the left was fine, no sliding at all. The second right hand turn was also fine, I think. It was the f...

I was hoping someone would see that! He was awesome. The neighbour called the police after I smacked the curb in front of his house (thanks!) and the highway patrol was there in a very short couple of minutes. After I did the mandatory breathalyser, he asked what happened and I old him I lost contro...

Well that's the thing. I didn't see any damage but the panel shop replaced (apparently) the bumper and fender. So maybe thy were damaged after all. I was under the impression both those parts were made of plastic, so I figured they'd return to their original shapes after the load was removed (in thi...

Wifey was surprisingly supportive. Especially considering it was our wedding anniversary on the same day, and we'd have weeks of sick kids, and we weren't going to be able to go out even for a nice meal together because of said sick kids. It's been a horrendous couple of weeks on so many levels...

I'm ok, the car's being fixed and I've learnt to be extra careful in the wet. I'm 35 and this is my second at fault prang in my entire driving career (the other was at in an XD Falcon at a roundabout where I braked and my wheels locked up-hmmm I see a pattern). I'm happy with that record and will ce...

Here are a couple of pics (tricky to manage on my iPhone): http://www.clubcj.net/cached_images/1372139571_1_PB_6526_0.jpg http://www.clubcj.net/cached_images/1372139571_1_PB_6526_1.jpg I couldn't get the angle right when I snapped the photo and was still running on adrenaline or I would have taken b...

Thanks all-glad to be here! I managed to get away from it with nothing more than shoulder soreness where the seat belt was. No airbags deployed, thankfully. My son, who was cheering me on in the back, wondered why we'd stopped! we were very lucky. The repairs might be done by the end of the week but...

VIC / MickyG / New (Sad) VIC Lancer VR Owner

Hi All! I'm a recent owner of a 2008 Lancer VR that I purchased not more than a month ago. I live in Melbourne and drive from the SE suburbs to Melbourne every day. I've got a wife and 2 kids (5 year old and 19 month old). My car is where I spend at least an hour and a half each day. I spent a long ...
