its not that people don't believe that it works, its just the mmcs system is pricey compared to aftermarket options. Put it up for auction on ebay, Outlander and Pajero guys also might be interested as they have the same stereo plugs as we do.

you shouldnt need to replace the instrument cluster, its managed by the etacs ecu, which tells it if the car its in is manual or auto. i replaced my cluster with one from an auto asx, works fine and my car is manual

I wouldn't advise foam as it typically is water absorbent, and could rot if it gets damp. Better to use proper car audio sound deadening, there is a few well known brands and it can be cheaper to buy online.
