Re: How common are ralli art problems, mainly transmission?
TC-SST reliability basically comes down to how it was driven (stop/start, highway, constant thrashing?) and whether it's been serviced. I would be inquiring as to whether the SST fluid has been replaced in the car and, if not, factor it into your budget and get it done soon. The 105,000km interval i...

Re: Is this RA under priced?
That looks like a very fair price for an RA of that age and mileage without being ridiculously underpriced. RA's have never had good resale which actually makes them a performance bargain now on the used car market. As far as things to look out for, I'd check to see if it has had the SST fluid repla...

Sure, if you do the work yourself. But let's be honest, the vast majority of people will not be doing this by themselves and $500 is the average price for a SST flush with Diaqueen.

Re: Vrx Or Ra
At the end of the day, comes down to whether you need/want an AWD performance car. If you do, then I think you'll always be disappointed with a VRX. If not, then the extra costs with running an RA is money you could have saved. The costs also add up - fuel (RON98 vs RON91), insurance (especially sin...

Re: Repainting Ralliart Rear Bumper
Also, what's the best filter for a 4B12? Looking at the TOG filter for $70. A lot of people seem to like the HKS Super Hybrids but they're twice the price. Which one's the better option? With the N/A Lancers, I'd say that the difference between the various filters is pretty minimal. You're talking ...

Re: Repainting Ralliart Rear Bumper
What's a ballpark figure? I'm getting the snorkel as well as a filter and hopefully get it tuned by Merlin at some point. The bumper however is purely cosmetic. A custom job should be in the $500-600 range. Not sure what the aftermarket options for the N/A Lancers are but a forum search should do t...

Re: Repainting Ralliart Rear Bumper
My questions are, how much am I looking at for respraying just the bumper (it's orange, need it silver) and am I correct in thinking the Ralliart rear will fit my VRX no problems? The RA rear bar is a direct fit for the VRX so no dramas there. As for a respray, you'd probably be looking at $250-300...

Re: Selling n/a vrx for an r/a?
as for the manual, auto debate. the gearbox is technically manual. doesnt matter that it doesnt have a pedal. the inside still has selectors and synchros instead of clutchpacks that an auto has. Might want to check that statement, the TC-SST DOES have clutch packs (hence the name). Think you mean a...

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer ends production
At this stage, I'm actually happy to see the Lancer go. It was getting so long in the tooth and Mitsubishi were tarnishing the nameplate by keeping it in production for so long when the competition had moved on by at least a whole generation. Anyway, here's hoping the Nissan/Renault alliance bears f...

Re: Selling n/a vrx for an r/a?
No, i don't. The sst is a manual transmission It's actually not. The TC-SST may have dual clutch packs but it's fundamentally still an auto (or more accurately, semi-auto) because you have a computer control unit and hydraulics between you and the gears. Back to the original question though, while ...

Re: Getting Closer :D - Opinions so far?
Maybe not, the XForce tips do seem further outboard. That said, a rear bumper with appropriate cut-outs would definitely make the dual exhaust stand out.

Re: RA vs NA?
Here is a question - Would you more likely buy a RA if Mitsubishi offered it with a proper manual GB like the EVO? I think Mitsubishi made the right choice by offering the RA exclusively with the SST, especially in Australia where the preference is heavily slanted towards automatics. It was the rea...

Re: RA vs NA?
Unless you intend hitting the race track or time trials. What do you do, or need, with all that power!! Performance cars have never been about need, they're really a selfish personal decision. Because if driving was just about necessity, we'd treat cars like whitegoods and all drive Toyota Corollas...
