Re: CVT whine

Time is always a consideration with fluids. That's why the engine oil needs to be changed at x amount of km or 12 months. If the oil doesn't need replacing from use it will eventually need to be replaced due to contamination. Engine oil in cars that don't see lots of kms run the risk of water contam...

Re: CVT whine

The whining or whirring sound is the first sign the fluid is stating to come to the end of its life. Mitsubishi service for this fluid is 90k but the harsh conditions service for the fluid is only 60k. so as Daniel said. If the car is driven hard, carries a lot of weight eg towing or put though abno...

Re: RA vs NA?

The NA will be cheaper on fuel, especially with a tune (im getting around 700km out of a tank with a some what aggressive tune) and enough power to keep the boredom away. a FWD will also have a longer tyre life as well, most of the wear is in the front and the rear tyres barely get touched. Dependin...

Re: Replacement Fuel Filter?

Correct. You can thank android for changing "in-take" to intake.

Re: Replacement Fuel Filter?

Ryco Z924, it's a intake fuel filter module meaning it holds the pump, float and filter all in one. The pump and float come off the original and are transplanted into the new.

Have installed this into a 4b11, 4b12 has the same tank and pump so should be the same but can not confirm 100%

Re: Battery and engine warning light

The battery light comes on when the engine isn't running. So if the battery light wasn't on until after the engine stalled that's normal. The check engine light isn't normal, but doesn't mean it's the engine, transmission faults also show a check engine light as well as a few other things.

That was my guess too. The job of the egr apart from emissions improvement is to allow co2 to partly fill the cylinders at low throttle and decrease the amount of oxygen needed to create an optimal burn. By removing the flow from the egr it would free up space for more air and potentially create a l...

I just attempted this. I had the settings to disable the egr DTC's in my definition file. Was easy to turn them off and blank off the egr valve ports with a metal shim. While I did not discover any fault codes caused by doing this I did discover that under light load and cruising high knocking occur...

Mitsubishi won't sell you a evo x spoiler without a evo x vin. Can vouch bodykits Kingdom and car mate evox spoilers are poor quality. They crack around the seams.

Also need the mounting brackets that go over the D bush and bolt onto the subframe to retain the sway bar to the chassis. As these do not come in with the whiteline kit and are a genuine part, whiteline do not make them either. Also to make your search easier. You can get the rear lower arms off any...

Troy, I have custom fabricated my own sway bar mounts for fitting it to the rear of a MY12 onwards with out the need to replace the expensive rear control arms. My MY14 Es has a rear sway bar now. But to do so I needed a custom exhaust fitted and changed its parts to the same as the early lancers.

Only problem tiff is on the my 12 and onwards you need to get the exhaust changed from passing through the right hand rear suspension to the early way where it runs straight down the centre to be able to fit a rear swaybar
